I'm Yamini, the founder of YST. An alumni of Amity University Noida, I'm a counseling Psychologist, currently pursuing Ph.D from SGT University, and hold license to practice Clinical Hypnotherapy, Family Constellation Therapy, Past life Regression Therapy, and Alt. healing modalities.
I have formerly worked with Cure.fit and Mindpeers amongst others. And cater to age group 18-35yrs.

“I’m 6 months pregnant… but I don’t feel connected to my baby.”
That’s how one of my clients started our session - she was crying and carrying guilt, confusion, and a silent fear of being a “bad mother.”
After our initial conversation, we realized there was something deeper that needed to be explored.
✅ We decided to work through a family constellation session - a space where we gently explored emotional patterns, family dynamics, and unspoken stress.
What unfolded was powerful.
🚨 There was a lot of emotional tension in her environment - lack of family support, constant stress, and feelings she had been suppressing.
And somewhere in all of this, she felt disconnected… from herself, and from her pregnancy.
❤️ Through our sessions, we worked on releasing that emotional load, creating awareness, and helping her feel safer and more supported within herself.
And slowly, things shifted.
She felt calmer, more present, and more open to her journey.

In therapy, denial can show up very subtly. A client might laugh while sharing something painful, say “It wasn’t a big deal,” or quickly change the topic after mentioning something deeply traumatic. From a psychologist’s perspective, this isn’t lying or avoiding therapy , it’s the mind protecting itself from emotions that once felt too overwhelming to process.
✅ Denial is often a survival strategy the brain learned to cope with pain when there was no safe space to feel it. Therapy gently creates that space, allowing the client to slowly move from “It didn’t affect me” to “Maybe it did.” And that shift, however small, is where real healing begins.
Healing doesn’t happen by forcing someone to face the truth overnight. It happens when the nervous system finally feels safe enough to acknowledge what it once had to deny. 🧠

Sometimes in therapy, a client talks about something deeply painful… and suddenly laughs.
It can seem confusing, but laughter in these moments is often a psychological defence, not a sign that the experience wasn’t serious.
Here’s what might be happening:
‼️ Humor – In psychology, humor is actually considered a mature defense mechanism. It helps a person approach painful memories in a way that feels less threatening while keeping the emotions manageable.
‼️ Minimization – The mind may unconsciously reduce the seriousness of the event by presenting it lightly. Almost like saying, “It wasn’t that bad.”
‼️ Intellectualization – Sometimes people laugh while explaining trauma in a very analytical or matter-of-fact way. The focus shifts from feeling the emotion to thinking about the event.
‼️ Reaction Formation – Occasionally, the outward expression (laughter) can be the opposite of the underlying emotion like pain, fear, or humiliation.
‼️ Emotional Avoidance – Laughter can also prevent someone from fully contacting grief, anger, or fear that feels too overwhelming.
✅ So if you’ve ever laughed while sharing something painful, it might just be your mind trying to protect you.

![One of my clients came to me after years of trying to conceive. Medically, there was no definitive cause for her infertility - yet cycle after cycle, nothing was happening.
She felt defeated, but more than that, she felt like her body was working against her.
During the Family Constellation Therapy session, we placed representatives for her, for her womb, and for her maternal lineage.
The representative standing for her womb said something that shifted the entire field.

A client came to me in her 7th month of pregnancy.
She had all normal reports, yet she couldn’t feel the connection everyone told her to feel. She felt guilty, anxious, and wondered if something was wrong with her.
During our Family Constellation session, we discovered:
⚡️ The baby wasn’t rejecting her. The mother’s nervous system was overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, and pressure from her family, her work, and even herself.
💞 The mother was unknowingly carrying emotional weight that was making it hard for her to feel joy or closeness with her baby.
